We are looking for a manager with expertise in data manipulation and MI monitoring to join the growing team responsible for developing lending strategies across all our award-winning lending products. This includes Personal Loans, Credit Cards, Auto Finance and Point of Sale lending, with over £2 billion of lending balances and large growth expected over the next few years.
At Zopa we are passionate about using data to drive decision making, improve strategies and maintain good customer outcomes. Your role will involve collaborative working with a range of stakeholders, data engineers and analysts to manipulate data, create efficient monitoring, and drive strategic long-term solutions.
You will lead a growing team of analysts at Zopa who all will play a key role in building a robust and scalable centre of excellence which is closely aligned across our award-winning products.

A day in the life...

  • Utilising the freedom to build, optimise and innovate processes, setting the standard for MI and data manipulation across the company.
  • Owning the roadmap for our analytics platform, figuring out what tools we should be using and designing new ways of exposing data to stakeholders.
  • Designing, delivering and owning best-in-class controls, reporting and monitoring infrastructure.
  • Collaborating with our data and modelling teams to build innovative data applications that leverage statistical and machine learning techniques to provide direct insights to the end user.
  • Managing stakeholder needs and expectations, delivering value-add developments whilst making prioritisation decisions.
  • Working with some of the best tech in the industry such as powerful python instances for data analysis, dbt for data pipelines and Redshift for data warehousing.
  • Identifying opportunities to optimise and improve existing processes, whilst feeling empowered to think outside the box and devise creative, innovative solutions to problems.
  • Utilising MI to identify trends and generate insight.
  • Working closely with the wider lending team to identify business problems, then design data, analytical and reporting solutions.
  • Managing and developing a growing team of analysts.

About you...

  • You have a strong ability in SQL and experience using programming languages such as Python.
  • You have strong experience in using Tableau or other BI tools, e.g. Looker, Power BI.
  • You have hands-on experience in manipulating large datasets and MI creation.
  • You have experience in leading and managing a teams of analysts.
  • You have good attention to detail and feel comfortable going through complicated data structures ensuring the generated results are accurate.
  • You can spot opportunities for improvement and drive a project through from start to finish with strong time management.
  • You are a doer; you love delivering tools and initiatives to add value to the company and support your team.
  • You don’t settle for the status quo and enjoy implementing new, better analytical practices both within your team and across the wider data community.
  • You're a strong conceptual thinker and can draw insights from data and turn them into actionable recommendations.
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate insight into a coherent story that drives action.
  • Working in a “customer first” business motivates you.
