Position Overview:

A Lead Cafe Coordinator plays a vital role in the smooth operation of the Yay Cafe . The Lead Cafe Coordinator provides support for the following tasks related to opening, closing, and operating the cafe. The Lead Cafe Coordinator will provide support to the Cafe Lead. This hours for this position range from 25-35 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate personal vehicle safely and in compliance with traffic laws and company policies.
  • Adhere to safety standards and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Pick up goods from the warehouse or vendor and follow the hotsheet (route) for delivery.
  • Open the cafe at the beginning of the day, ensuring all necessary equipment is operational and supplies are stocked.
  • Close the cafe at the end of the day, securing the premises, and completing necessary closing procedures.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure all appliances, lights, and equipment are properly working.
  • Manage Yay Pay and credit card operations, including processing transactions, providing change, and handling cash discrepancies.
  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints promptly.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained by all staff members.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and take proactive steps to enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Provide guidance and direction to cafe staff, including lunch aids and delivery drivers. e.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, and communicate needs with Cafe Lead. .
  • Receive and inspect deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Enforce cleanliness standards throughout the Yay Cafe.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation practices.

        Qualifications:

        • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting.
        • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
        • Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
        • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
        • Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
        • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
        • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people, including students, faculty, and staff
        • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
        • Ability to work well with school staff, students, and other team members.
        • Flexibility to work morning and afternoon hours, as scheduling will depend on each individual school’s needs. Most positions will be part-time.
        • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for meal deliveries
        • Listed as an insured party for your vehicle

        • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
        • ServSafe certification is preferred but not mandatory; can be obtained once employed
        • Flexibility in working hours, as the schedule may vary based on business needs.

            Compensation:

            • $20.00 per hour
            • Full benefits
            • 401(k) eligible after 6 months
            • Data stipend
            • Mileage reimbursement (when delivery is required)
