Suzy is seeking an experienced Software Architect to help plan and drive architecture decisions around Suzy’s survey execution platform. The ideal candidate should be a strategic thinker, careful planner and advocate for an extensible, technically sound, and stable product.

Suzy is in the process of rapidly scaling from a scrappy startup to an established and mature product with an expansive growth trajectory and requires smart scalable solutions to support this expansion. The Software Architect on our survey execution team is a key contributor to creating and implementing these solutions.

In this role, you will be responsible for reshaping our software and cloud architecture for all things survey execution on a platform gathering a million survey responses per day! You will play an outsized role in designing features, reviewing implementations, debugging complex issues, and helping Suzy maintain the highest standard in survey response quality. You should be comfortable with monoliths, microservices, and cloud native architectures. This role will encompass an evolutionary process, delivering key features while transforming our architecture for the future without impacting production.

• Work closely with software engineers and product management to plan, develop, and maintain the current and future architecture of Suzy’s survey execution platform
• Make decisions around the standards for code and practices across the survey execution platform and take steps to maintain and enforce these standards
• Conduct code reviews and offer guidance and mentorship to the engineering organization
• Help triage, classify, and debug issues related to the survey execution platform
• Act as an individual contributor writing flexible and extensible code that will integrate seamlessly with the rest of the Suzy platform

• A collaborative working style in agile engineering organizations
• Excellent documentation skills with an emphasis on explaining technical design decisions and architectural design decisions
• Experience in evolving the architecture of an enterprise product or legacy enterprise software
• Experience in high volume, consumer facing web applications
• Strong experience rapidly triaging and debugging production issues
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure (preferred) and scalable cloud architectures
• Strong experience with modern .NET development (.NET 8 preferred)
• Strong relational and non-relational database design skills (Azure SQL, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch preferred)
• Bonus points for experience managing the execution of surveys, fraud analysis, and/or data quality analysis at scale

• The target base compensation for this role is $144,500 - $195,500 / yr.
