Pair Eyewear is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee accounting, and help build a function that will support Pair’s growth in the coming years. We have a small but mighty team that is eager to take accounting and business processes to the next level, with the direction from a thoughtful and decisive leader. This position will be reporting to our VP of Finance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee the accounting function of a multinational and multichannel eyewear business, including general accounting, AP, AR, tax, and treasury.
  • In conjunction with the VP of Finance and head of FP&A, help establish operational and financial metrics, as well as any additional reporting necessary across the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements, in order to better understand business performance and guide our leadership team in decision making.
  • Manage all aspects of the general ledger and the monthly close process, and prepare consolidating financials to be fed into our management financials.
  • Work closely with various cross functional teams to help establish consistent policies, practices, and procedures, in order to ensure a timely and consistent close, and to better manage our budgets.
  • Work towards establishing basic internal controls and segregation of duties, to ensure the integrity of our numbers, from both a human and a systematic perspective, in conjunction with our business systems team.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to Pair’s external auditors, and coordinate our annual audit.
  • Research any accounting issues for compliance with GAAP (and FASB).
  • Oversee any regulatory reporting, including tax and compliance.

Need to Have:

  • Certified Public Accountant
  • 8+ years of professional work experience
  • 3+ years of managing a team
  • A strong understanding of inventory accounting
  • Experience with DTC e-commerce businesses and familiarity with DTC metrics
  • Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system

Nice to Have:

  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and accounting
  • Experience with multinational companies and foreign exchange
  • Experience overseeing treasury management

At Pair, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. The pay range for this position is expected to be between $185,000 - $210,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
