Role Overview:

Intramotev is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join the development team to meet growing demands in the development of self-propelled rail vehicles. Intramotev is developing multiple unmanned self-propelled vehicles. This role has a strong electrical focus with additional testing responsibilities. The successful candidate will be a member of the development team for innovative self-propelled capabilities in electrical controllers, battery systems, and electric motor systems for current and future platforms. The development of these capabilities includes multi-disciplinary skills - algorithms development, systems development, integration, and testing. This position will be based out of St. Louis, MO.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and translates requirements into electrical system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Supports the supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design.
  • Research technological advancements for potential application to company business needs.

Team Dynamics:

  • This position involves working in a dynamic team environment on small (1-2) to medium (3-6) person projects where excellent interpersonal and communication skills are needed.
  • Due to the research nature of the work, project objectives and requirements are likely to evolve over the course of the role.
  • Occasional domestic travel will be required to support integration, demonstration and customer engagement.

About You:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science.
  • 3-5+ years of experience with controllers and electrical systems.
  • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).
  • Motivated, detail-oriented.
  • Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches.
  • Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment or as an individual contributor.
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:

  • Experience with CAN bus systems.
  • Experience with electromagnetic interference (EMI).
  • Unmanned Rail Systems / Unmanned Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience working on project teams and collaborating with other engineering disciplines.

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master+1 years' related work experience, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
