As a Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications, you will assist with leading a fast-paced team of System Engineers responsible for providing technical solutions that meet the evolving business needs of Compass. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to scope and implement new technical initiatives, streamline, automate, and simplify processes, and educate employees on the effective use of the technologies and processes necessary for the business to operate.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of managers, engineers, developers, and admins.
  • Guide career development, skill enhancement, and performance management for team members.
  • Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals and drive innovation.
  • Maintain code quality and adherence to best practices with the technical team and product management.
  • Define, execute, and report on software development strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and project delivery.
  • Champion a technical vision for engineering, driving sound technical and architecture decisions.
  • Oversee the technical operations of various business systems, such as Salesforce, Okta, Zendesk, Google, Workato, SpringCM and DialPad, among others.
  • Develop efficient team operations processes across Agile, Release Management, Production Support, and SDLC.
  • Build trust and plan product development with cross-functional stakeholders (Engineering, Growth & Revenue, Finance & Accounting, Legal, HR).
  • Lead operational excellence strategies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years in software development, with at least 7+ years in management.
  • Hands-on technical leader with experience leading teams and managers.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications, distributed backend systems, or data platforms.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Proven track record of using agile principles with multiple teams and products.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration across all company functions.
  • Strong mentoring and review skills to help engineers progress.
  • Focus on building stable, reliable products that enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Experience with large-scale platforms, business systems, and technologies (REST, SOAP, ETL).
  • 5+ years managing application development engineers and ensuring team productivity.
  • Skilled in crafting detailed road maps, promotion materials, and executive-level documentation.
  • Experience leading technical design discussions and engineering projects.
  • Strong Agile mindset, capable of managing risk and driving data-driven improvements.

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $118,100-$177,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. Minimum wage for the position will always be met.
