As a Senior Manager, Business Systems Engineering, you will assist with leading a fast-paced team of Engineers and Solution Architects responsible for providing technical solutions that meet the evolving business needs of Compass. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to scope and implement new technical initiatives, streamline, automate, and simplify processes, and educate employees on the effective use of the technologies and processes necessary for the business to operate.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team comprising Business Systems Engineers, Developers, and Admins to foster a culture of high performance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to scope and implement new technical initiatives, streamline processes, automate tasks, and educate employees on effective technology usage.
  • Manage the daily activities of Financial Systems Engineers, Developers, and Admins delivering critical features and enhancements for Compass’s business growth.
  • Oversee technical operations of financial systems, including Netsuite, Workday, Coupa, Concur, Stripe, Adaptive, FloQast, and others.
  • Provide leadership and direction to complete team tasks, resolve issues, and meet project milestones.
  • Develop and implement efficient team operation processes across Agile, Release Management, Production Support, and Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Define a clear vision for the short- and long-term technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with business and team goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders (Engineering, Finance & Accounting, Legal, HR, etc.) to build trust and plan product development.
  • Communicate transparently with cross-functional stakeholders to build trusted relationships and prepare for product investments.
  • Lead the development and implementation of operational excellence strategies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality across all operational facets.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area.
  • 8+ years hands-on development experience with large-scale platforms and applications, including experience with business systems (NetSuite, Workday, Coupa) and technologies (REST, SOAP, ETL, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience managing application development engineers (i.e., NetSuite, Workday, Adaptive, etc.) including experience in 360° people management, team growth, and ensuring team happiness and productivity.
  • Experienced in crafting detailed and comprehensive roadmaps and plans, compelling promotion materials for resources, and concise executive-level documentation.
  • Experience in coordinating, creating, and completing technical design discussions that drive technical architecture and lead engineering projects.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams (Scrum, QA, Release Management, Program Management, TechOps) and effectively communicating complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong Agile mindset with experience working in resource-constrained environments, managing risk (technical, product, personnel), and driving data-driven improvements.

The base pay range for this position is $144,000-$215,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. Minimum wage for the position will always be met.
