Compass is looking for an exceptional Accounting Associate to be an integral part of a highly dynamic and innovative real estate firm. The primary focus of the position will be to assist in areas of the financial statement close process and own critical account reconciliations. Additional responsibilities include analysis of our results against the annual operating plan, along with preparing ad-hoc analytical reports and assisting with business-critical special projects.

What You Will Do:

  • Review and post all payables for Kinlin Grover Compass

  • Review vendor statements for any outstanding items

  • Maintain all payable files including W-9s for vendors

  • Review and process all payments, mail, and agent reimbursements

  • Review all and post credit card accounts

  • Track postage needs and post to replenish, month-end allocations of cost centers

  • Manage and post equipment leases

  • Create and maintain monthly bank reconciliations

  • Create weekly Cash Flow reports for management

  • Serve as the first point of contact for account discrepancies

  • Provide support to the Accounting Manager on projects and assignments

  • Provide backup coverage for vacations/sick time in the department

Who You Are:

  • 1-3 years experience in Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable or bookkeeping

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is preferred

  • Knowledge of MS Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and charts

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Strong dispute resolution and mediation skills to handle issue escalation and resolution

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong quantitative skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work efficiently and accurately while handling multiple deadlines simultaneously

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
