In the last 50 years, home sizes in the US have nearly doubled, yet the housing supply is growing at half the pace that it was 50 years ago. This has caused housing prices and rent to skyrocket. At the same time, isolation is now considered America's most significant health risk.
CoLife aims to solve both of these by making coliving safe, easy, and affordable. We match homeowners with live-in renters based on mutual values and interests. CoLife enables homeowners to offer renters a home on average 50-60% lower than the market rate and helps solve isolation by bringing people together.
CoLife has recently closed its pre-seed round and joined a San Francisco-based venture studio founded by an ex-Sequoia partner who has invested in six unicorns and is led by one of the founders of one of those unicorns.
We seek an experienced Lead Matchmaker to join our team and revolutionize our platform's user experience by effectively connecting them with the perfect leasing opportunities. As a Lead Matchmaker, you will play a crucial role in analyzing user data, identifying patterns, and leveraging various outreach methods to match users successfully. Your critical thinking skills and expertise in data analysis will be instrumental in achieving outstanding results. Most importantly, the Lead Matchmaker will act as a player/coach as they lead and manage other matchmakers.
The most important thing is that matchmakers hit 15-20+ leases every month.
The lead matchmaker should be able to matchmake themselves first and act as a player/coach for other matchmakers.


  • The lead matchmaker will supervise up to 10 matchmakers doing the role below.
  • They will: Recruit matchmakers, Hire matchmakers, and Manage performance based on a series of charts to demonstrate: Messages sent, Meetings set up, Leases signed, and Collections

Here is the role for each matchmaker:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of user data to identify and assess potential leasing matches
  • Devise innovative outreach strategies to connect users with suitable leasing opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of leasing matches
  • Utilize critical thinking to identify untapped opportunities for enhanced user connections
  • Track, monitor, and report on the effectiveness and success of leasing matches
  • Continuously analyze user data to refine and optimize leasing matching strategies

About you:

  • Possess an internal Rolodex mindset, enabling you to evaluate applications and intuitively match individuals effectively
  • Display persistent politeness in your communication approach, maintaining a consistent follow-up process through calls, texts, and emails
  • Demonstrate exceptional responsiveness, promptly addressing user inquiries and concerns
  • Exhibit persuasive skills, facilitating successful matches by effectively communicating and persuading both homeowners and renters to be flexible and accommodating, fostering mutually beneficial agreements and timelines
  • Proficient in using a Macbook
