About the Role:
The Program Administrator role involves managing and overseeing state-specific programs or initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with various stakeholders to achieve program goals. The Program Administrator acts as the spokesperson on program-related matters and services; may review state and federal legislation and its impact on specific program areas; keeps management informed of legislative and congressional issues.
- Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage state government programs, including setting goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Resource Management: Determine financial and other resources needed for program implementation, including staffing, budgets, and contracts.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure programs comply with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and program recipients, to achieve program goals.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, analyze, and report on program data to assess effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
- Performance Evaluation: Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
- Supervision and Training: Supervise and train program staff, providing guidance and support.
- Grant Management: Manage grants and other funding sources for programs.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development of program policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Be the subject matter expert on State/Federal program requirements
- Implement program standards and procedures; and perform other operational duties as necessary
- In collaboration with Marketing, create campaigns that drive awareness
- In collaboration with Legal, ensure program integrity
- Create relationships one level down and across the State/Federal agency
- Build client retention and satisfaction through relationship management
- Create and share recurring program performance reports (internally and externally)
- Rely on success metrics and data to determine action plans
- Set and reset expectations internally and externally as necessary
- 2 years in an Program Administrator role, state or local government highly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public administration, social work, policy studies) or equivalent experience
- Strong online and in-person presentation skills
- Superior business, process management, and negotiation skills
- Ability to build relationships with industry associations and influential contacts
- Ability to use CRM and sales automation and tools to streamline efforts
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies
- Willingness to travel (estimated 10-20%)
- Existing industry experience preferred
- PMP Certification preferred
