Purpose is creating the world’s first AI-powered personal growth coach—helping people move from “I’m doing fine” to “I know who I am, what I care about, and how to live with clarity.” They’re building the visual language of personal transformation.

  • Co-founded by Mark Manson (20M+ readers, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F***) and Raj Singh (100M+ users, last AI product acquired by Revinate)
  • Launching in Q4 2025 to Mark’s established audience
  • Seed-stage startup with runway to build something meaningful

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

Purpose needs someone to own the day-to-day business engine — customer support, community, subscriptions, and operating rhythm. This person will make sure the trains run on time, users feel supported, and the company has the structure to scale.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support: Build the support function from scratch so every customer feels heard and cared for.
  • Community: Create a space (likely Discord) where users connect, share, and stick around.
  • Subscriptions: Keep App Store + RevenueCat/Stripe clean and reliable — pricing, refunds, promos, and flows.
  • Lifecycle: Run the onboarding, email, and push campaigns that activate and retain users.
  • Operating Rhythm: Lead the weekly heartbeat — KPIs, team meetings, launch checklists, postmortems.
  • Team Building: Help hire and coach future team members as the company grows.

WHO PURPOSE IS LOOKING FOR

This role is perfect for someone who:

  • Loves creating order out of chaos.
  • Has built support or community functions before and knows how to scale them.
  • Understands consumer subscription apps and how to keep them running smoothly.
  • Is calm under pressure, clear in communication, and thrives on rhythm and consistency.
  • Collaborates well with fast-moving teams while keeping operations tight.
  • Is curious and comfortable using AI tools to move faster.

STRONGEST CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

  • Experience at a consumer app in wellness, productivity, or education (think Calm, Headspace, Strava, Finch, etc.).
  • Familiarity with tools like Intercom, Braze/Customer.io, Amplitude, Stripe, Discord.
  • Some light analytics skills (SQL or dashboards) to guide decisions.
  • A proven story of building something from zero and turning it into a durable system.

COMPENSATION

  • Base: $100,000–$140,000
  • Bonus: Optional performance bonus
  • Equity: 0.1–0.25% DOE
