Salted, our client, has been building better-for-you, digital native restaurant brands for the last four years and now has 28 locations across the country, making them the largest delivery-first restaurant group in the US.
They’re looking for a Staff Accountant responsible for the complete payroll cycle, including data gathering, processing, and compliance. This role also executes comprehensive period-end closing procedures, encompassing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. They analyze financial variances, provide detailed reporting, and maintain meticulous records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll: Gather all payroll data, review for accuracy, run payroll, and ensure successful payment;
- Payroll Review: review for accuracy, check compliance, and maintain accurate records;
- Employee Compliance: manage onboarding and offboarding process of both hourly and salary employees, ensuring compliance to legal and company standards;
- Period-End Closing: Execute all period, quarterly, and annual closing procedures, including journal entry preparation, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statement preparation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness;
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Analyze variances between actual and budgeted results, prepare supporting documentation, and contribute to the production of accurate and insightful financial reports for management review;
- Compliance and Record Maintenance: Maintain meticulous records, process regulatory filings (e.g., sales tax), and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, including the accurate management of fixed assets, inventory, and intercompany transaction.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll or accounting
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, non-exempt position
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
Salary: $100,000 annually
